Elm Woodlander Classic 4"
Elm woodlander knife with right hand scandi sheath in chocolate

Blade length 4"

Handle length  4.5"

This Woodlander 4" Classic knife is made from 3mm thick O1 carbon tool steel. It has a full tang construction for strength, but due to the 3mm steel has nice balance in the hand and is not too heavy. The 3mm steel  with the classic "scandi" grind makes a great all round carving tool and is ideal for food preparation and camp chores. The handle is made of Elm which has nice grain and is shaped and finished for a very comfortable grip in the hand. This is our Classic Woodlander which has won "Best In Test" in the Bushcraft And Survival Skills magazine handmade knife reviews twice now, and is still our most popular design amongst outdoorsmen and bushcraft instructors.

This is a really nice knife and will be a great companion on any wilderness trip.

It comes with a dark brown, right handed "scandi" belt sheath  with a antler  firesteel and holder as shown in the picture.

This Woodlander comes in one of our new presentation boxes which is embossed with our logo to make it an even more special package.

Birdseye Maple 3.5" Woodlander
Birdseye maple handled woodlander 3.5" with dark brown belt sheath

Blade length 3.5"

Handle length  4.25"

This Woodlander 3.5" Woodlander knife is made from 3mm thick O1 carbon tool steel. It has a full tang construction for strength.  The 3mm steel cuts really well due to the classic "scandi" grind.  The slightly shorter blade is great for fine work, but is still strong and suited for all manner of tasks.  The handle is made from Birdseye Maple which looks really  nice and is very hard wearing. It is not a standard wood we use for our knives so this is a special "Woodlander".

It comes with a dark brown, right handed  belt sheath as shown in the picture.  This sheath has been made so that it is a deep pocket sheath, so only the butt of the knife is clear of the sheath, for a very secure fit

This Woodlander comes in one of our new presentation boxes which is embossed with our logo to make it an even more special package.

Walnut Trapper
walnut trapper with red liners and a dark brown belt sheath

Blade:  3.5"

Handle: 4.70"

New design the "Trapper"

This knife has been designed for the outdoorsman who has a lot of skinning work to do. With advice from friends who do deer work they suggested a blade that was not too long, so that your index finger can be placed down the spine of the knife to cover the tip when gralloching, and also a blade shape that was better for skinning. I wanted a knife with a slightly wider blade, with more pronounced belly to the edge to make it easier to remove the hide from the animal and less chance of sticking the tip of the knife through the skin.

The “Trapper” was developed for the job.

This Trapper has a 3mm 01 tool steel blade which has a great sharp edge but plenty of strength for cutting through joints etc. It has a very comfortable Walnut handle with striking red liners. The handle is heavily shaped so that a positive grip can be maintained even when your hands are cold or wet.

Comes with a dark brown right hand belt sheath as in photo

Box Woodlander 4.5" in 12C27 stainless steel

Blade 4.5"

Handle  4.75"

This special "Woodlander" has a blade made from 4mm thick, Sandvik 12C27 swedish stainless steel.

Sandvik 12C27 is probably the most popular "stainless" knife steel used in the Scandinavian countries. It is an extremely fine-grained steel, which allows it to take a very keen, razor-like edge. It is typically quite hard (59-60 Rc), yet is also quite tough, and very easy to sharpen.  It also has a little more chromium than D2, which makes it more resistant to rusting and a true stainless. This knife has a fantastic shaped and polished Box handle framed by black liners, which feels really good in the hand. The box makes a very strong dense handle and adds a certain weight to the knife. The 4.5" Woodlander is a bigger knife designed for either someone who needs a longer blade for more extreme work, or someone with big hands as the larger handle will be a better fit. It still has a square back edge for scraping and using the fire steel. This is a great knife for anyone who may be around water for long periods.

Comes with a chocolate brown, right handed, belt sheath with antler handled firesteel as in the photo.

Olive Ash Woodlander 3"

Blade 3"

Handle  4.2"

This is a lovely little carver, has all the classic features of a Woodlander with a shapely contoured Olive Ash handle with nice colour and stripy grain. It has a 3 inch long, 2mm thick blade in O1 tool steel. Comes with a chocolate brown right hand belt sheath.

Ideal for woodcraft use, shorter blade than the 'Woodlander' Classic but still a full size handle and full tang construction. The 2mm thick blade makes whittling and food preparation a real joy, as there is so little resistance from the blade as it slides through whatever you are cutting. This is small enough to have some paracord tied through the belt loop and worn around your neck if needed. This would make a great companion to a bigger knife or for a first knife for someone just getting into woodcraft.

D2 Woodlander classic 4"
D2 Woodlander with green canvas micarta handle with red liners and a chocolate belt sheath

Blade length 4"

Handle length  4.5"

This Woodlander 4" classic knife is made from 3mm thick D2 tool steel. This is not a standard steel we use, but is a custom option. D2 has more chromium in it than 01 making it much more stain resistant, and has a more aggressive cutting edge due to its hard carbide structure. It has a full tang construction and flat scandi grind. The 3mm steel is great for carving and food preparation and being D2 is very easy to clean after using for field dressing. The handle is made of green canvas Micarta which has been textured on its surface to give it great grip even when wet and is a very tough handle. This knife has red fibre liners to frame the handle and is a nice contrast to the green canvas Micarta. This was the favourite handle choice of Knife legend Bob Loveless.

This would be a great knife for any canoe trip where you know it might get wet.

It comes with a chocolate brown, right handed belt sheath as shown in the picture.

The "Glen" with English Burr Yew
Glen knife with burr yew handle green liners and a dark brown right handed belt sheath

Blade 5"

Handle 4.75"

Introducing a new design the “Glen”

This knife has evolved from a customers own requirements, the need for a larger more full shapely handle for the larger outdoorsmans hands. Glen asked me to make this knife to fulfill his needs and to give him the knife he liked but with the classic "scandi"  flat grind which works so well for all aspects of carving, food preparation and skinning. The Glen is a big knife and has a 5 inch blade 4mm thick made from O1 high carbon tool steel, it has a more deeply bellied blade section which is great for skinning and slicing cuts. This knife has a fantastic English Burr Yew handle which is heavily shaped and feels great in the hand, framed with very dark green fibre liners.

Massur Birch Craftsman 3"
Craftsman knife with massur birch handle and a dark brown right handed belt sheath

Blade 3"

Handle 4.5"

Introducing a new design the “Craftsman”

This knife has evolved from my own experiences of carving and also through suggestions from fellow whittlers. I wanted to develop a knife with a narrower blade to make craft work easier and make cutting curves in spoons and other craft projects a joy.

The “Craftsman” was born!

The Craftsman has a slender blade with the essential flat “Scandi” grind and a comfortable full tang and full size handle not too heavily shaped so that a multitude of different carving grasps can be used. This knife has a 3 inch 3mm thick O1 tool steel blade with a fantastic Massur Birch handle and a dark brown right handed belt sheath.

This knife recently featured in this months "Carving Magazine" carving knife review and was highly regarded by the editor.
