As well as providing a range of craft tools and knives, we also provide training, whether it be for tool making or for green woodworking. We offer Pole-lathe turning, stool making, spoon carving, tool sharpening, bowl turning on the pole- lathe and much, much more.
We can offer a range of skills and lengths of course to suit. We generally only teach one or two people at a time for the knife and tool making courses, due to the size of the smithy, but we can take up to 7 people for the green woodworking courses as we have a much bigger outdoor workshop for this purpose.

(Larger groups or if we visit a location of your choice will be quoted for individually).
Depending on the type of course there may be a materials charge.
Whats possible on a course?
Metal work
1 Day - Basic tool making, small knives or hook tools and take home everything you make.
2 Day - A few simple knives and tools or a finished knife with handle.
3 Day - Finished full tang knife made from scratch, heat treated and with handle and leather sheath.
Green Woodwork
1 Day - Basic introduction to green woodwork or a day of advanced skills
2 Day - Make a shaving horse or a few green wood turned or carved projects.
3 Day - Make a stool and a wide range of green wood projects and have a comprehensive
understanding of the tools and techniques involved.
Accommodation
If you would like to stay on site for your course we have the facilities for simple camping, with a basic wash room, but a open fire is permitted.
£5 per night per person
Alternatively bed and breakfast is available in the Village of Cradley or 5 miles away in Malvern.
There are many local pubs for evening meals, or you can cook on a fire under the stars.
